God call us to walk by faith and not by sight, to fear not! These two commands are strong reasons to live our lives with confident trust no matter the storms we face, no matter the adversities. Crisis will keep us on our knees but no matter what, God is with us. God is constant in his plans to lead us to green pastures of joy and peace.
I recall a season where my knees tremble in wonder if I would ever come out of the valley of the shadow of death. My heart palpitate, my hands sweat from my racing heart as my pulse beat to the sound of fear, anxiety, and doubt. I was in the valley. I focused on my circumstances, I failed to look up even as my father’s voice sound of comfort tries to lead me on. I was desperate as fear gripped me for what seem like years. My faith in God challenges my perspective to feel his presence and his power at work in my circumstances.
I imagine what Jonah may have felt when he landed in the belly of the whale, Jonah 1:17. It didn’t matter why he found himself in that pickle, he was in a test due to disobedience and faith would be his only motive over fear of whether he would die or live through his dilemma.
How have your faith been challenged? Is there any circumstances in your life that cause you to fear God would never show up? God is with us. Our faith will always be challenged to move us into mature levels in God. While fear is natural and we all fear, God call us not to be afraid. He know that we would walk through adversities, through storms, crisis, and pain. He will not leave you nor forsake you, Hebrews 13:5, that's his command to all of us. Yes, having faith when everything in our lives is out of control is difficult. Seasons of doubt, fear, and anxiety will distort of abilities to feel God's presence. Trust God for everything. Pray about everything and he will bring your circumstances to past.
